We are sure that all members of plant science and entomology communities will share the deep sadness with which we learned that one of our network members, Dr Glato Kodjo, a professor-researcher at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lome, Togo, was among 157 people who tragically lost their lives when an Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 Max-8, bound for Nairobi, crashed on 10 March 2019.

Dr Kodjo was travelling to a plant science training course in Nairobi that had been organised by the CONNECTED network in association with Biosciences eastern and central Africa – International Livestock Research Institute (BecA-ILRI) Hub, Kenya.

Our deepest condolences are with Dr Kodjo’s family, friends and colleagues, at this extremely sad and difficult time.
