Reflections on an extraordinary 2020
Many network achievements, despite COVID-19 impact
As we head towards the end of 2020, the CONNECTED Network is reflecting on some of the highlights of an extraordinary year. Despite the restriction imposed by the global pandemic, here are a few of our network’s 2020 achievements:
- 1,500 members, 83 countries
- Held the two-week ‘Springboard To Impact’ online conference, with 31 online presentations & workshops
- Published films of 27 of these for our network members
- Held an online Maize Lethal Necrosis workshop in response to conference demand
- Completed 20 pump-prime funded research projects, and published scientific posters from them all for network members
- 12 members were awarded places on INEXTVIR webinar series
- 2 funded places on a leading bioinformatics course in Uppsala, Sweden
- Funded training opportunities for 5 members, in-person and online
- Launched an agricultural innovation study
- Launched a brand new animated film
- Held online communications coaching for over 100 members
- Developed international multidisciplinary partnerships
- Secured a one-year extension for the network
So now here’s to 2021, with more opportunities and activities for network members.
